In this blog post, a few of our people from across LEO Learning share eLearning trends for 2017 and what they’re looking forward to in the new year.
Piers Lea, Chief Strategy Officer:
The results of our impact measurement research
We’ve been carrying out research to find out what organisational appetite there is for measuring the business impact of learning, with a focus on discovering what the pressure from leadership is to deliver this, and what the obstacles to taking action are.
I’m looking forward to publishing these results in January 2017 and using them to better inform our work and to help our clients throughout 2017, and in the years to come. We’ll be sharing the stories so we can all learn from them and will be conducting this research on an annual basis in order to track the results.
Ryan Timpany, Graphic Designer:
The rise of VR and AR
It’s an exciting time for Virtual and Augmented Reality innovation in technology and there’s a real buzz of excitement at LEO Learning around what’s possible now.
VR allows you to put yourself into someone else’s shoes. Learners can travel or experience places that might otherwise not be possible, whether that be due to budget or safety issues. You can also create multi-user experiences, where people from anywhere can get together and share experiences. Due to the physical nature of VR, shutting out other sensory input, people are focused on the visual and audio content. This and the 360 degree interaction and input create a sense of immersion not achievable on other platforms.
I’m looking forward to seeing how we can feed this excitement and innovation into our own projects here, and help our clients to address their challenges in a completely new way.
Tillie Clark, Events Manager:
Learning Technologies
Learning Technologies is always an exciting time of year for us here at LEO Learning. It’s Europe’s leading showcase of organisational learning and the technology used to support learning at work. The event takes place on the 1st and 2nd of February in London, England.
We’re really excited to be attending again and to be showcasing some of the capability that we’re proud of. It’s an exciting time of innovation within the industry, and it’ll be great to see what everyone else is showcasing too. If you’re attending, be sure to stop by and say hello at stand B16!
Mark Aberdour:
Another key area for us in 2017 is learning analytics for the workplace. LEO Learning’s parent group LTG is a major investor in the Watershed learning analytics product and we are very excited to introduce the power of learning analytics to our clients. We know this is going to be a popular service and can’t wait to get started on it!
We hope you enjoyed this round up of eLearning trends for 2017. Happy holidays and best wishes from all of us at LEO Learning and here’s to a fantastic 2017!
