As part of our ‘Meet the team’ series, we’re chatting to key members of the LEO GRC family so you can get to know them better. Today we’re speaking to Charlotte Gibbs, Project Manager in our London office.
What does your role as Project Manager entail?
Plenty of planning and liaising with our clients and our talented teams. The role can vary from managing projects for generic and custom courses, to classroom-based training sessions, with the ultimate aim of delivering a quality service and product to drive client satisfaction.
Which part of working at LEO do you love most?
I'm very new to the company, having only started in June 2018, but even after my first week I already felt comfortable and at ease. The people and my team are wonderfully supportive and everyone is always willing to help.
The regular office breakfasts are always a winner too!
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Achieving my black belt in karate—a number of years of training and many sit-ups later. My first 'job' was teaching the youngsters karate every Saturday morning before training myself.
What is the biggest challenge you've overcome?
Probably when I traveled solo to Mongolia to volunteer in an orphanage.
My host family was absolutely lovely, but my Mongolian wasn't quite up to scratch, which meant a few dinners sitting with a dictionary. I also got temporarily lost whilst trying to make my way from a market just outside the city and get back to my host family… lesson learned!
What are the three things you can't work without?
Sticky notes, snacks and laughter.
What subject could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
Traveling and everything wonderful that goes with it—especially the food!
